An important resource of this library for genealogists is the set of obituary books in their holdings.  The collection of obituary information begins with 1953 to present.  Members of the Mountain Genealogists Society, a very active local group, recently began extracting obituaries from the Canyon Courier newspapers (covering Evergreen and the High Timber Times (covering Hwy 285 corridor, Conifer, Pine, Bailey)

 

The obituaries are in binders located in the Evergreen  Library (Jefferson County, Colorado). The information extracted is on a page along with the copied obituary from the newspaper.
