The Traveling Genealogist Genealogy Jigsaw Puzzles
(I cut vintage style wooden jigsaw puzzles for sale)
The photos I used to create my own Genealogy Jigsaw Puzzle was from a trip I took to
County Clare, Ireland a few years ago. I used a photo of the farm house I was told could have been my great grandfather's family (same given and surname). I overlayed an image of his Civil War Military Record. Cut "missing pieces" of "I r e l a n d" from it. I also included an image of the cemetery in Ireland that had many people buried there of his surname. Related? I'm not sure. And, of course, the landmark "Cliffs of Mohr".
The frame you see around the jigsaw puzzle is actually a puzzle tray I constructed. It makes it so much easier to work the jigsaw puzzle on this flat surface with the trim to hold the puzzle in place. A nice way to display it too. This heirloom will be placed with my family genealogy research items for future generations in my family to enjoy. If you or someone in your family loves to work either jigsaw puzzles or is interested in genealogy or both, and you are interested in having a similar puzzle created, be sure to contact me by leaving a comment or emailing me directly. I will soon have my Etsy shop up and running offering personalized The Traveling Genealogist Genealogy Jigsaw Puzzles.
Vintage photos of our ancestors make great jigsaw puzzles as well. Here is one I did of my ancestor. I used a 1918 photo of her taken for her graduation photo. I did some minor photo restoration on it.
